The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will make a campus visit to the University of Nebraska at Kearney on Friday, May 27, 2011. The itinerary for the visit is as follows:
8 a.m.: Breakfast
Location: Newly remodeled Men’s Hall
Briefing and tour of Men’s Hall
Briefings on the Randall Hall project, proposed Wellness and Recreation Center, and the Otto Olsen Building; walk-throughs of Randall Hall, Otto Olsen and the site of the proposed Wellness and Recreation Center.
Location: College of Education building
9:15 a.m.: Online Education
Presenter: Dennis Potthoff, department chair and professor of teacher education
10 a.m.: Industrial Distribution program
Presenters: Rustin Dring, industrial distribution student; UNK faculty members
10:45 a.m.: Break
11 a.m.: Undergraduate research student panel
Panelists: Jay Powell, UNK graduate; Sada Hotovy, UNK graduate; and Christine Guilling, former UNK student and current University of Nebraska Medical Center Ph.D. student.
11:30 a.m. International initiatives panel
Panelists: Sam Schneider, UNK student who studied in the Netherlands; Yao Zheng, UNK international student from China; and William Aviles, associate professor of political science and study abroad leader in Peru.
12:30 p.m.: Lunch
Location: Fine Arts Recital Hall
Presentation and demonstration: David Nabb, professor of music and performing arts; and Jeff Stelling, instrument technician.
Discussion: UNK Chancellor Doug Kristensen – South Campus: Visions and Concepts.
