Karen Christiansen Administrative Technician West Central Research and Extension Center -- North Platte UNL
Karen was a key person in the switch to the University's SAP software system – and in the elimination of the "shadow system" that had been used previously to keep track of records and reports. She developed a way of downloading SAP data into Excel spreadsheets that were easy for the faculty to use, and she has trained others in the use of this procedure.
Karen has been particularly helpful in handling personnel and payroll for the Gudmundsen Ranch. When the staff there is working day and night caring for 600 calving cows, they sometimes let some of the record-keeping go. But Karen helps work through the scheduling and compensation issues to make sure everyone is treated fairly.
