Media Advisory: NU President Milliken to address Kearney Area Service Clubs March 14
University of Nebraska President James B. Milliken will speak at the Monday, March 14 meeting of Kearney Area Service Clubs. The meeting begins at noon at the Ramada Inn, 301 Second Ave. in Kearney. Milliken will speak on the role of the University of Nebraska in supporting and growing the state\'s economy and challenges facing the university. A native of Fremont and graduate of the University of Nebraska, Milliken took office as president in August 2004. He previously served as senior vice president for University Affairs for the 16-campus University of North Carolina. Milliken is a member of the board of directors of the Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce. He serves on the Business Higher Education Forum and the Council on Competitiveness and is a past member of the board of directors of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges.
