Board of Regents Meeting Highlights: September 10, 2004
The following items of interest are on the agenda of the University of Nebraska Board of Regents for its September 10 meeting:

University of Nebraska at Omaha Education Dean appointment (Item IX-A-1). The Board of Regents will be asked to approve appointment of John Langan, longtime College of Education faculty member and acting dean for the past several months, as dean of the college. Langan is also a veteran member of the Omaha Public Schools board.

Parking structure addition to add 843 parking spaces on UNL city campus (Item X-B-3). The board will be asked to approve an $8,400,000 addition to the parking structure at 14th and Avery Streets to replace parking lost because of the Antelope Valley Project. Financing will be provided through a bond issue.

Program statement of the International Quilt Study Center at UNL (Item X-B-4). The International Quilt Center is currently located in converted space on in the Home Economics Building on UNL’s east campus. The board will be asked to approve a program statement for a new, state-of-the-art, environmentally controlled storage and year-round exhibit space. The building would be constructed either at 33rd and Holdrege or adjacent to the Law College on the east campus. Financing for the $10 million project would come from private funds.
