The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) will receive the university-wide departmental teaching award from the University of Nebraska, according to an announcement today from University President James B. Milliken.

Internationally renowned artist Enrique Martínez Celaya – and Visiting Presidential Professor at the University of Nebraska – will make a second visit to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln April 14-18, University President James B. Milliken has announced.

University of Nebraska President James B. Milliken has announced the appointment of Joel D. Pedersen of Lincoln as Vice President and General Counsel. Pedersen will succeed Richard R. Wood, who retired at the end of 2007 after serving the University for nearly 30 years.

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents unanimously passed a resolution Friday affirming its commitment to broad diversity among students and faculty at the University of Nebraska. The board took a position on a petition currently being circulated in Nebraska that would prohibit the use of race, gender and other factors in the operation of public higher education: in recruiting, hiring and admission decisions at the University.
