The University of Nebraska is committed to transparency in its use of resources, including employee compensation. The following document contains 2015-16 budgeted salaries for University employees and is available for any member of the public to inspect.

Data Source

The data included in the attached report reflects employee budgeted salaries for the 2015-16 fiscal year as of July 1st 2015. Only employees holding a permanently budgeted salary line whose payroll is processed by the University are reflected.

Compensation Factors

The University of Nebraska competes on a global level for top talent, and competitive compensation is key to our ability to recruit and retain the very best employees. Positions across the University reflect a wide range of compensation levels, reflecting not only the job’s duties and requirements, but also individual employee attributes such as credentials, job performance and time-in-service.

Funding Sources

Investment in talent is a high priority, but we also are committed to managing our resources effectively. We leverage non-state sources such as federal, private and other funds when possible. Nearly 40 percent of the University’s payroll is funded from non-state sources.

Policies and Applicable Law

The University of Nebraska makes all decisions regarding recruitment, hiring, salary, promotion, and all other terms and conditions of employment without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, marital status, political affiliation, genetic information, veterans status or individual characteristics other than qualifications for employment, quality of performance of duties, and conduct related to employment in accordance with University policies and rules and applicable law.
