James A. YankechJames A. Yankech
University Health Center
During the past year, Jim has done Yeoman’s work, serving both as the Associate Director for Business Operations of the Health Center and as Interim Director of Multicultural Affairs at UNL. This meant he came in early each day, stayed late, and was often on the job on weekends.
He negotiated a new student health insurance policy, developed a summer fee policy, and supervised the business office, pharmacy, counseling and psychological services, and community health service.
At the same time, he devoted a great deal of attention to Multicultural Affairs, spending countless hours working with the MCA staff to strengthen programs, and took a sincere interest in the personal and career goals of both students and staff.
Throughout this very demanding year, Jim has maintained his sense of humor and has focused on services to students.
With him today are his wife, Rose, their daughter, Stacey, and son Adam. Please join me in congratulating Jim Yankech for his strong commitment to serving the University.
