2005 Americas Conference on Information Systems

UNO

This group KUDOS award recognizes all of the UNO faculty and staff who worked to bring the 2005 Americas Conference on Information Systems, or AMCIS, to Omaha this summer. The UNO representatives who are here to collect the award are Deepak Khazanchi , professor of information systems and quantitative analysis; and Ilze Zigurs, professor of information systems and quantitative analysis.

More than 1,100 participants from 440 universities met at the Qwest Center for this important conference. This was the first time the AMCIS conference was held in the heartland, and this year’s event featured a record level of corporate sponsorship, the first bilingual track, and a record number of doctoral student presentations. The first-ever MIS doctoral camp was held at the Arbor Day Farm Lied Lodge and Conference Center in Nebraska City.

The AMCIS conference brought national attention and recognition to the University of Nebraska and the community of Omaha, and for their organizational and coordination efforts, I am thrilled to present this KUDOS Award to Deepak and Ilze.
