Keith SwartsKeith Swarts
Director of Business Services
University of Nebraska Medical Center
The Board of Regents is pleased to present a KUDOS Award to Keith Swarts, Director of Business Services at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Keith’s nominator wrote, “I have heard our Chancellor say ‘Ask a person who is really busy to do something, and he will get it done.’ Keith Swarts is one who fits that description.” Keith is always willing to help or to take charge to get things accomplished, whether it is part of his position or just because it will benefit the Medical Center directly or indirectly. “Let’s get it done” seems to be his motto.
When the campus was in need of someone to work on Bio-Terrorism planning, Keith and John Hauser stepped up, and did an excellent job. Keith has also been an important player in helping accomplish federally mandated HIPAA compliance needs. It seems he is always looking for a challenge.
His community activities include involvement with building the Ronald McDonald House, the acquisition and operations of Potter House, service on the Henry Doorly Zoo drive committee for over 25 years. Keith has also been actively involved in the student-run SHARING clinic, and has been a willing mentor to summer interns. He believes in developing employees to give them the chance to grow.
Keith’s involvement in any project gives others who work with him an opportunity to learn through that project. Please join me in thanking Keith Swarts for his leadership and spirit of teamwork. Keith’s guests today are Dave Melliger, Don Leuenberger and Jayme Nekuda [Neck’-oo-da].
