On behalf of the Board of Regents I am pleased to present a KUDOS award to Stacie Sabatka, the psychiatry clinic coordinator at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Stacie has been in her position at UNMC for five years, and her colleagues and supervisors say she is one of the best supervisors the Department of Psychiatry has ever seen. Since taking over her job, Stacie has become a critically important and inspiring figure as an administrative lead in the outpatient clinic. She has consistently performed in exemplary fashion for the department, acting in a caring, ethical and professional manner. She demonstrates outstanding leadership - is an excellent role model for her co-workers - and provides generous care for the clinic’s diverse and challenging patients.
Stacie’s projects and responsibilities are many, as diverse as supporting and training new faculty – to marshalling the Department’s efforts in support of the LPS Liberty School project. Due to Stacie’s focus on children in poverty, UNMC has established a partnership with the school – organizing drives and collections to provide needed items and services for the Liberty students.
Her colleagues say Stacie embodies the true spirit of UNMC’s mission: To provide the highest quality of patient care.
Dr. Mark Fleisher wrote: “As a physician, I understand my role is important to the mission of UNMC. However, I firmly believe we could carry on quite well in my absence. I cannot imagine how we would continue to function as we do in Stacie’s absence for even a few weeks. She is that important and successful at her job.”
