Indeed, with responsibilities that include coordinating the operations for 12 residence halls; supervising 12 hall directors, 5 assistant hall directors and 70 resident advisors; responding to crisis and counseling situations; coordinating student discipline and acting as appeals officer; and managing housing operations for summer camps and conferences, it is not hard to imagine that she faces a good many challenges. But her positive attitude, sound judgment and proactive nature serve her well.
In October, UNK hosted the Upper Midwest Region of the Association of College and University Housing Conference. The overwhelming success of the conference was due in large part to Gail’s efforts as event co-chair. In 2004, she also served as the advisor for the Midwest Affiliation of College and University Residence Halls Conference. However, Gail is most proud of the people she works with every day. “I am re-energized on a daily basis by being able to work alongside them and by playing a small part in their professional development,” she said.
Thank you, Gail, for your dedication and exemplary work – congratulations!
