During the last three years, Earl has served as the UNL Campus Project Lead for the PeopleSoft system implementation. In this role, he managed many areas that were involved at UNL, worked with other Nebraska institutions that were included in the project, and utilized the consulting resources that were made available. Since the PeopleSoft system went live in production, he has acted as the Student Records Lead, organizing and managing the records related PeopleSoft needs for both the University of Nebraska and State College Systems.

Earl’s performance in this project has been exemplary. He showed leadership skills and motivated the staff while keeping them at ease and the mood light. He logically thought through the different aspects of the project, which gained him the respect of all parties. He was a true diplomat when working with the other campuses, ensuring their needs were met while looking after UNL’s interest.

Today Earl is accompanied by his guests: His spouse, Stacey Hawkey; his supervisor, Dr. Juan Franco, vice chancellor for student affairs; Dr. Timothy Alvarez, assistant vice chancellor for student affairs; Steve Booton, associate director of registration and records; and Melissa Clanton, assistant director of the SIS project.

Please join me in thanking Earl for his dedication to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and to Registration and Records.
