On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS award to Tamora Plugge, Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Tami joined the UNK staff on September 1, 2004, as Staff Secretary in the Senior Vice Chancellor’s Office and was promoted to her current position in January 2006. Her responsibilities are wide ranging and her supervisor, Dr. Charles Bicak, credits her excellent execution of those responsibilities as absolutely essential to the success of many academic initiatives across the UNK campus. “Tami is the consummate professional,” he says. “She displays the remarkable and very special combination of innate intelligence, high work ethic, and personable demeanor.”
Tami is the first point of contact for the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs; has oversight of the faculty evaluation process, protocol, and deadlines; regularly interacts with administration, faculty, students, and staff; maintains the Senior Vice Chancellor’s calendar; assists with compiling materials for the Board of Regents, Post-secondary Coordinating Commission, NU System Office, and the UNK Council of Deans; and organizes and maintains records in relation to budget and for many other purposes. Colleagues appreciate her knowledge and dependability, her willingness to help and go beyond what is asked of her, her judgment and ability to successfully navigate through difficult situations, and her humor and wit. People from both on and off campus seek her out because it’s well known that she either has the answers to their questions or knows whom to ask. UNK is a better place because of her.Accompanying Tami is her husband, Brent, and one of her sons, Nathan. Tami’s youngest son Turner is a 4th grader and asked if he could just please go to school.
