On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS award to Carin Borg, Administrator IV in Department of Surgery for the UNMC College of Medicine.

Carin was nominated by her supervisor and more than 10 of her colleagues. They describe Carin as an excellent mentor. “Despite her many demands and her extremely busy world, her door is always open and she is always available to help. Her ability to work with each person as if they are the most important person in the world is unbelievable. She is able to motivate, direct and even reprimand in an effective manner that makes one want to work harder for her."
Carin’s colleagues also view her as a devoted leader. “Leadership is often about the intangibles and is hard to measure. It’s one of those things where you know it when you see it and Carin exemplifies leadership in every meaning of the word. She is dedicated and loyal to her work, the mission of UNMC, and all of the values that encompass it.”
Dr. David Mercer, Chairman of the Department of Surgery, says that Carin’s dedication to the organization, the faculty, and her administrative staff is truly extraordinary. “She possesses all the attributes and characteristics that distinguish the leader from the follower! Carin has mentored and guided her staff through good times and bad, by providing a nurturing environment conducive to success and by being an inspirational role model and counselor.”
Today, Carin Borg is accompanied by her husband, Randy Borg, and her daughter, Dr. Jaime Seeman (See-mun). Please join me in thanking Carin Borg for her contributions to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
