Elected to the Board of Regents 2014

Krupa Savalia, a first generation American, was born and raised in New Jersey.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2006, graduating with distinction.  After graduation, Krupa returned to the east coast to work in rehabilitation engineering and clinical research laboratories of the Kessler Foundation Research Center.  That experience peaked her interests in pursuing a career that bridges the gap between patient care and scientific innovation. Krupa has completed the first two years of her medical school training and is currently a third year Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Cellular & Integrative Physiology at UNMC. Her dissertation project focuses on the development of a nanoformulated and stable antioxidant complex as an alternative therapeutic strategy for the treatment of hypertension. Krupa plans to graduate with her Ph.D. in 2014 and will subsequently complete the final two years of her medical school training at UNMC
